New Stores Coming in the Neighborhood

Full Description:

Here is a list of new business coming to the 190 area. This information comes from Michael Holden, Mayor Pro Tem, Councilmember District 1.

1. The Mall has started construction! There will be an official ground breaking in January but they have already started the grading and the opening will be in the Fall of 2005! Yahoo! I have been working extremely hard with the City Staff and the Mall Company (Simon Development) in getting this started before the end of 2003. If it didn't get started before Christmas this year it would have been pushed back and started next Fall. Definitely not a good thing.

The anchor tenants are Dillard's, Foley's and AMC Theater. Inside the mall will be located Barnes and Noble, Circuit City, Bed, Bath and Beyond, The Gap, Old Navy and the list keeps going. Once I get a complete list I will send that out.

2. Currently under construction between 190 and the Super Target is Petsmart and Michael's. Office Depot will be building soon between the Target and the also currently under construction Lifetime Fitness. Next to Chick-Fi-La is to be a Marble Slab creamery as well as other small retail users.

3. In front of the Lifetime Fitness facility will be a Logan's Roadhouse (full service restaurant) and next to that will be a Hibernia Bank.

4. Between the Home Depot and Lowe's is to be a Best Buy, Linens and Things, B. Dalton Book Store as well as a Rockfish (restaurant) and two other restaurants I am not able to mention yet.

5. Recently approved by the City Council is a Red Lobser and Olive Garden which will be next to the Outback Steakhouse. Olive Garden will start construction within the next 30 to 45 days and Red Lobster will start about 90 after that.

6. An office building was just approved and it will be South of Brand on 190.
