THIS SUMMER “LOVE YOUR LIBRARY”
Full Description:
The Sachse Library will kick off its Summer Reading Program with
a pizza party at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 2nd. Drop by for info on the
reading club and to pick up your reading log sheets.
Open to children ages 5 to 12, the reading club will start June 2.
Preschoolers to age 4 are invited to join the Read-to-Me Club and
attend the programs as well. All minutes read between June 2 and
July 19 must be tracked on the individual log sheets with the date,
title of book, number of minutes read and a parent’s initials. Everyone
who participates will receive a certificate and be entered in the
prize drawing held on July 26. First, second and third place winners
will be determined in each of three categories: preschool to kindergarten;
first to third grade; fourth grade and up.
This year’s schedule is full of fun and informative performers:
June 7- Critterman, an educational program features wildlife animals
June 14- Rhythmweb presents a rhythm and percussion program
for all ages
June 21- Bongo Rod entertains with a unique and educational
puppet show
June 28- Zooniversity amazes and educates with live animals
July 5- Wings Again amazes with exotic birds
July 12- Buddy and Tine Wright sing and educate on various
aspects of bluegrass, gospel and blues music
July 19- Strike, Scrape and Shake with Mark Shelton, a high energy,
fast-paced program that is educational and interactive using percussion
instruments
July 21- (Saturday at 2 p.m.) Harry Potter Party - join us to celebrate
the release of the 7th and final Harry Potter book Harry Potter and
the Deathly Hallows, along with games, food and prizes
July 26- End of Program Party with certificates, awards, door prizes
and refreshments
All programs start at 11 a.m. on Thursdays (with the exception of
the Harry Potter party) and last approximately an hour.

you keep your reading skills sharp over the summer.
